    • Medicine Walk, Indian Horse, Five Little Indians, Inside Circle
    • The titles above give us a range of texts that give students different access points for students to look at how colonialism and the Residential School System.  The different modes allow students to choose a text to learn about the themes.
  • 500 Years of Resistance, This Place 150 Years Retold, The Inconvenient Indian, Not Your Princess
    • Graphic texts and non-fiction texts that present an Indigenous perspective on the history of colonization.
    • These texts are important in challenging the single dominant narrative concerning colonialism.  The text use images and humour to create an access point for students.
  • Toronto at Dreamers Rock, Someday, Only Drunks and Children Tell the Truth
    • Indigenous plays that present address issues of how Canadian polices impacted Indigenous Peoples and present voices of resistance.

For these texts, we consulted with different staff as well as looking at FNESC and Strong Nations to ensure that these represent our goals well.
