Connectedness: Believing in student success

Believing in Students and supporting their Learning
Every child deserves an educator that will advocate and promote a child’s unique abilities and skills.  An educator that will never give up on the child, someone who understands that through the power of their advocacy and mentorship they can help a child reach and maybe even exceed their biological potential.  For the child, what they see in the eye of their teacher is someone that believes in them, their abilities and beleives that they will be successful in life. This belief  leads the willful creation of challenges and learning opportunities that lead to personal growth, self-expression, and success.  The educator praises and supports the student, and focuses on activating student engagement with their learning.

At Burnett we focus on:

  • Creating a caring school climate – school provides a caring, encouraging environment that respects the community’s culture.
  • All students receiving high levels of care and support.
  • All students receiving positive and respectful communication, feedback in a timely fashion
  • Working together to create a caring community. Parent and community involvement is essential to schooling – parent(s) and community members are actively involved in helping the young person succeed in school.

Connectedness to educators

For students to feel safe, be successful and reach their full potential, at Burnett we believe all students should feel connected and supported by an educator at Burnett.
