BREAKERS DAILY NEWS         

1. If you’re looking to join the ski and snowboard club this year, it’s not too late! There are still spots available on the bus. Students looking to join should drop their completed forms off to Ms. Kozij in room D212 by Monday, December 16^th. Spots are limited, hand your forms in soon or miss your opportunity for this year!
2. This week is CS Education week, a great opportunity to learn more about the field of computer science and its impact on our world. Science Club will be hosting a presentation with a guest speaker during Friday lunch in the library to share what it is like to work in the comp sci! Check out @jnbscienceclub on instagram to learn more!
3. Interact is excited to announce that we will be holding a Tim Hortons fundraiser in front of the cafeteria tomorrow! We will be selling an assortment of donuts, as well as ice caps, during break and lunch. Come support us by buying a donut or two! Proceeds go to UNICEF!
4. The juniors boys basketball team got defeated against Cambie Secondary in their first regular season game. Losing to a score of 44-57.
5. Our Senior Girls home opener was last night against Cambie. It was a difficult game, but the Senior Girls persevered and won 87-47! Thank you to everyone who came out to support us last night!
6. Grad Comm is hosting a candy gram sale this week in front of the cafeteria during lunch! Stop by to buy candy canes for your friends—just 50 cents for one or 3 for $1!
7. Attention all club leaders! If your club would like to set up a table during next week’s Breakers’ Winter Festival, please contact Stuco via Instagram @jnbstuco. The deadline will be this Friday at 3:30pm, so reach out as soon as you can!
8. Get ready for another Grade Wars event, happening on December 20th at the Winter Breaker Festival. We will be hosting a gingerbread building contest in teams of three per grade. The winning team will receive a Burr Basket! Sign up now through the Google Form linked in @jnbstuco’s Instagram bio.  
9. Grade12 Students! If you would like to be considered for the following scholarships: SJ Commitment, Schulich, BC Excellence, please fill in the online JN Burnett scholarship form on the Burnett website and forward it to you counsellor no later than Wednesday, January 15th, 2025.
