From competitive tournaments, leadership sessions, karaoke, and a Grade 8 dance – our staff, Grade 8 Mentors, and Grads of 2024 started the school year building foundations for leadership, community building and our theme – Rise & Tell Your Story.

One of the biggest strengths of this retreat was the opportunity for Grade 11 and 12 students to take on a leadership role with the Grade 8s, playing an integral role in building connections with the youngest students at Burnett.

A huge thank you to Mr. Giesbrecht, Ms. Meralli, Mr. Joe, Ms. Louie, and Ms. Takada for their leadership and to all our other staff who helped make this event a success.
