  1. Grade 12 Students, are you interested in the BC Excellence Scholarship? JAN 23rd by 3pm is the deadline to submit your nomination to the Counsellors. To be considered for this scholarship, students must first be nominated by their school Principal.  Each school can nominate only one grade 12 student. Interested students must first submit an online nomination form to their career advisor.  Check your email for the link. Please note that students may apply for both the BC Excellence scholarship and the Pathway to Teacher Education scholarship but they can only be awarded one.   
  2. The Girls Senior Night basketball game is next Monday, January 26, at 7 p.m. against Cambie. There’ll be lots of fun activities, a dance team performance, and surprise guest appearances. Come cheer on the Seniors as they celebrate their final year playing basketball at Burnett!
  3. Half-court Basketball Intramurals start on Thursday, January 29 in the big gym at lunch! We’ve got Casual and Competitive divisions, 8‑minute games, and prizes for the winners! Grab four friends, create a fun team name, and sign up as a group of 5 using the link in JNB Athletics bio! Don’t wait - sign‑up deadline is January 27!
  4. Hey mathletes! Registration for the Waterloo Pascal, Cayley, Fermat contests and the Canadian Computing Competition are now open! Scan the QR codes on the math club bulletin board or the links on our Instagram @jnbmathclub! 
  5. The table tennis team successfully defended home court on Thursday afternoon, securing a dominant 8–1 victory over MacNeil! Special recognition goes to Benny and Harper, who continued to deliver outstanding performances and remained undefeated across their matches. Overall, an impressive team win—keep the momentum going, Breakers!
  6. Grade 12 students, you will be writing your Graduation Language Assessment 12 next Tuesday, January 27th. This assessment is a requirement for all students to meet graduation requirements. Please check the lists posted on the cabinet across from the office to see the time and room you are writing the assessment in. 
  7. Hey grads! Grad photos with Artona will take place Jan 30-Feb 6 in the school parking lot. Be sure to book your session at artona.com to be featured in the yearbook. Group photos can be booked separately on Feb 5-6 in Room B106. Don't miss your chance to capture this milestone!
