What happens when you mix nearly twenty Burnett staff, leadership and over one hundred and forty enthusiastic Grade 8 Breakers? You get a combination of school spirit and a great beginning to a new school year. The Grade 8 Retreat was held at Camp Stillwood and extended over three high-energy days. From competitive tournaments to team building sessions, the grade 8s worked closely with the leadership students, staff and their peers to create a sense of community and open up avenues of communication. One of the biggest strengths of this retreat was the opportunity for grade 11 and 12 students to take on a leadership role with the grade 8s. They played an integral role in building connections with the grade 8s. A huge thank you to Mr. Giesbrecht and Ms. Meralli for their leadership and to all our other staff who helped make this event a success. Outstanding start for the Grads of 2023!
