  1. Happy Earth Day breakers! This week, the green team encourages you to take small actions to stay sustainable and reduce your carbon footprint. Some ideas include reducing how much single-use plastics you use, walking to school, or eating a meatless meal. Have a good earth day!
  2. Grads, are you interested in performing at Valedictory? There will be an important meeting next Friday, April 24th, at lunch in the music room. 
  3. Are you in Grade 11 and ready to start university early?  Start a dual credit KPU program in either Biomedical & Health Science or Business in semester two of grade 12 and have all of your tuition paid for by the School District.  The application due date has been extended to May 5th.  See your career advisor or counsellor for a copy or find one on the Career Programs website or school slat board.  Apply now!
  4. Are you thinking about a career in the Emergency Health Services? Come and learn about jobs as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, paramedic, patient transfer coordinator and more. Ms. Courtney Harrison of the BC Emergency Health Services will give a presentation at Steveston London Secondary on Monday, April 27 starting at 3:20 pm. You will learn about the many different occupations available to you within the Emergency Health Services field. Parents are welcome to attend. 
  5. Grade 11 Students are you interested in the University of Calgary? A representative will be visiting Burnett tomorrow, April 23, with a booth in the multipurpose room at lunchtime. Stop by to ask questions, pick up a brochure, and see if the university is a good fit for you.
  6. FFC and the Interact club thanks everyone for all their participation in the spring cleaning clothing drive. It has been a great success and we will be announcing the winner shortly! Stay tuned!
