  1. As we approach the World Teacher's Day on Oct 5, we want to say “Thank You” to our amazing Burnett educators. You inspire us to learn, grow, and believe in ourselves. Thank you for everything you do!
  2. Hey Breakers!  Are you interested in being a library monitor in semester 1?  There will be a brief information meeting on Tuesday, October 8th afterschool in the library starting at 3:15pm.  This is just a quick 10-minute meeting to explain what monitors do and hand out sign-up forms.
  3. Are you an international student planning to study at University of Toronto in Sep 2025? Do you have a high academic standing and strong leadership presence in the school? Have you had a significant impact on the school, community, and have the potential for global impact? Ask your counsellor to be nominated for the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship TODAY!
  4. Are you interested in studying abroad for your post-secondary education? There will be an information session on October 26th at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Meet with top universities, graduate schools and professional schools from Canada and around the world. Detailed information is posted outside the counselling office.
  5. Congratulations to the Grade 8 Girls Volleyball Team for placing third in the Cambie Tournament yesterday after winning 2-0 against Cambie Secondary School! The tournament MVPs were Lilian Shen, Angie Tam, and Zera Lu. Awesome job, Breakers!
  6. The Grade 9 Girls Volleyball Team played against Cambie, Steveston London, MacNeil, and Palmer last night during their tournament hosted at Cambie Secondary. They placed second overall in the tournament. Well done, Breakers!
  7. Yesterday, the Senior Girls Volleyball Team lost a hard-fought but cheerful game against Richmond High. Come support them at their next game against Boyd at 6:00 PM next Thursday in the Wave Cave!
  8. JNB newspaper club is having their first meeting today in Ms. Kozij’s room. If you are interested in writing about our school community, make sure to stop by today at lunch.
