BREAKERS DAILY NEWS          

  1. Attention Grade 12s! Capstone presentations are THIS FRIDAY! If you haven't finished and submitted your capstone project yet, you MUST submit it ASAP!! All grade 12s were sent an email with capstone presentation instructions. If you haven't already, start preparing and practicing your presentation! Contact the CLC teachers if you have questions.
  2. April was Autism Awareness Month. Did you know that Autism is not “bad” or “something that needs to be changed,” but rather a neurotype to be accepted and respected?
  3. Hello breakers! Tomorrow is the last day to purchase your school merch hoodie through school can online! If you are paying in cash, you can get a physical order form in Mr. Lee’s room A125. Don’t miss out!
  4. Grade 11 Students, applications for the SD38 LinK38 program are now out. This can be found on the SD38 Career Programs website. In this “Learning in Kwantlen” program, students take one university course and earn both post-secondary and high school graduation credits. All course options are university transferable. An added bonus is that Richmond School District pays your course tuition! Apply for LinK38 by sending your application to the SD38 Career Programs Office by Tuesday, May 21st. Spots are limited, so get your applications in as early as possible.
  5. Attention travelling band, there is practice tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM.
  6. Come celebrate Music Monday on May 6th in the Wave Cave at 7 pm with Burnett’s bands and community music programs.
  7. Did you know that 1 in 5 adults experience a mental health condition? Next week is Mental Health Week and we are planning a range of activities including yoga, fidget breaks and more! Join us next week in promoting mental wellness.
  8. You all look amazing for Verses Thursday. Thank you to everyone who either dressed for a night out, or stayed in their comfy pj's! Send all your photos to @jnbstuco on Instagram. Just a reminder that tomorrow is Burnett's PEP RALLY!! Make sure to wear your grade colour tomorrow. Grade 8s wear red, green for grade 9s, black for grade 10s, grade 11s wear white, and grade 12s wear blue! We can't wait to see you there breakers!
