1. April is Autism Awareness Month. Did you know that the Autism Spectrum is not linear, but more like a variable wheel?
2. ATTENTION GRADE 11s! If you are interested in applying for Grad Committee Executives next year, please see the Grad bulletin board outside of Ms. Lenahan's classroom, or Ms. Rodriguez's classroom (D211) to scan the QR code application form. Deadline to apply is May 1st. Let's make the grad year of 2024-2025 memorable!
3. Hey breakers, are you interested in becoming a Student Council Executive for 2024-2025 school year? Applications are open and due on May 1st. Please visit their instagram page @jnbstuco for details.
4. Hey breakers, do you want to develop your leadership skills? Are you looking to make a difference at Burnett? Join the Burnett Wave Student Leader Group! Please scan the QR code posted outside of the school office for detailed information.
5. Grade 11 Students, applications for the SD38 LinK38 program are now out. This can be found on the SD38 Career Programs website. In this “Learning in Kwantlen” program, students take one university course and earn both post-secondary and high school graduation credits. All course options are university transferable. An added bonus is that Richmond School District pays your course tuition! Apply for LinK38 by sending your application to the SD38 Career Programs Office by Tuesday, May 21st. Spots are limited, so get your applications in as early as possible.
6. Grade 12 Students, have you received an offer from a post-secondary Institute? May 1st is the deadline to accept. Are you waiting for another post-secondary institution to send you an offer? The chances are you will not receive this until after May 1st. Don't delay, accept today, and please don't wait until the last day as there are usually computer issues and the website crashes. Remember, you can always decline at a later date. However, if you don't accept now, you will lose the offer. Good Luck!
