Ms. Carter is the School Career Information Advisor located in the Burnett Counselling Centre who offers an abundance of resources and support to students. Ms. Carter provides career and educational planning information and advice to students regarding post-secondary options and is here to support you throughout the entire process.

Throughout Grade 10-12 your career information advisor can help you:

  • Consider career paths that are right for you; look at choices available and explore career and post-secondary options
  • Research post-secondary institutions that offer your career program of study
  • Answer what Grade 11 and Grade 12 class subjects are required for post-secondary admissions?
  • Introduce to you post-secondary contacts
  • Notify you of upcoming post-secondary events in school
  • Begin the admission process
  • Register with STS to allow BC Government to send your transcripts to post-secondary institutions
  • Understand self-reporting on applications and deadlines
  • Register for admission tests, like the SAT and ACT if required (USA)
  • Secure applications, identify deadlines, and prioritize the tasks you need to complete as you apply for post-secondary
  • Explore options to pay for college – scholarships and bursaries available to you
  • Compare offers of admission and financial aid
  • Make the transition seemingly effortlessly to post-secondary
