Remembrance Day Ceremony

Our school will host Remembrance Day Ceremonies on Friday, November 10.  At Burnett, students and staff normally wear black and white and "dress their best" for our ceremonies to show respect for those who have and continue to sacrifice for our freedoms. Poppies will be provided in Block A on Friday and students may make donations which goes to the Legion Poppy Fund. The Legion provides financial assistance and support for Veterans, including Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP, and their families who are in need.

Our Remembrance Day assemblies are always classy student-led opportunities for our whole school community to take a moment to reflect.

Students will attend one of two ceremonies. Their teacher in B block will share which ceremony they will attend.

  • First Ceremony - 9:40 AM
  • Second Ceremony - 10:45 AM

Alternate Bell Schedule

Block A 8:30 - 9:35 am
Block B1 9:40 - 10:40 am (approximately)
Block B2 10:45 - 11:45 am (approximately)

Block C 12:00 - 1:05 pm

We also encourage all Burnett families to take a moment on November 11 to honour the sacrifices made by others that allow us to live as freely as we do in our safe country.  Lest We Forget
