BREAKERS DAILY NEWS      

Good morning, Burnett Breakers! Here are your announcements:      

  1. All Grade 12 Students, let's ensure you are ready for post-secondary education! Check your email from myEd to receive a handout covering all admissions, timelines, scholarships, events, and more! If you have any questions, please send an email to Ms. Carter, the Career Advisor. You can find her contact details on the school website.
  2. Club leaders! Remember to submit club applications by September 19th. You will need to submit both the paper and online application. The form is available in the school office.
  3. Attention all students! The Yale Youth Debate Academy has opened for applications! Their coaches include Ivy League champions and national debaters. Affiliated with JNB Debate, application is on Instagram @yaleyouthdebate. If you or your younger sibling want to start competitive debate, this is an excellent opportunity to receive free training from top debaters.
  4. Attention grads! Way to show your school spirit! Just a reminder that tomorrow is like “Little Miss/Mrs” Day - check our instagram for more information or examples! If you’re dressed up, don’t forget to head down to the Photography room to get your picture taken!
  5. For all students taking the Peer Tutor course, please meet in room D199 this tomorrow at lunch.
  6. Band club is for anyone who likes to play concerts and perform in Whistler. Our next rehearsal is September 25th at lunch in the band room. Any Burnett student that wants to play is welcome to join.
  7. Attention Jazz students, if you are interested in joining the Burnett Jazz Club, there is a meeting in Band room D195 today at lunch.
  8. Hello Breakers! PAC’s free hotdog event has been postponed to this Friday, September 15th, at 3 pm. It is open to all students, staff and parents. Come by this Friday for some free food and drinks after school.
