  1. Attention GRADE 8 STUDENTS, Program Planning sessions will take place tomorrow February 16 starting at 8:30am during BLT. Program planning sessions are extremely important in planning your pathway to graduation! We look forward to seeing you in the multipurpose room tomorrow at 8:30am.
  2. Attention to students interested in taking AP courses: there is an information meeting TODAY at lunch in the library. There will be AP teachers presenting their courses and a Q&A session to answer your questions.
  3. All library monitors from semester one and semester two, there will be a quick club photo for the yearbook tomorrow, THURSDAY, at 3:10 pm in the library.
  4. Attention all Ski and Snowboard participants! Today is our third trip to Grouse Mountain! Please leave your block D classes at 2:30 and load the bus ASAP. The school will be locked when we return, so be sure to bring all your belongings. See you there!
  5. Attention Grade 10 and Grade 11 Students! Do you have questions about educational programs or opportunities available to you while in high school that might help you to prepare for your future career?  If so, come join the Career Programs informal Q&A series after school TODAY between 3:00 and 4:00pm on Zoom.  The QR code and/or Zoom ID and password information can be found on the Career Programs slat board found in the counsellors' office and on the Career Centre website.
  6. BCIT Big Info In-Person Event is happening TODAY at the Burnaby Campus from 4-7 PM. Big Info is the largest program expo and information session at BCIT. It’s your chance to find out about all BCIT programs – from business and media, computing and IT, engineering, health sciences, trades and apprenticeships, and applied and natural sciences. Register to attend the In-Person or Online Event and have a chance to win one of three $1000 tuition prizes! To register, go to BCIT website.
  7. Interested in trying out a new sport this Spring season? Come sign up to join the grade 8, junior and senior ultimate team in front of Mr. Harrison’s room: B104. Senior tryouts start on today and Feb 17 after school, at the back field. Open practice for Grade 10, 11 and 12 will start this Friday in Minoru field at 3:30 PM.
  8. Are you interested in joining the Track and Field team? You are invited to a meeting TODAY at lunch in Room D199.
  9. For the students who have signed up for the waterloo contest: on Feb 22, the Grade 11’s will go to Ms. Lenahan’s room D213; and the Grade 9 and 10s will go to Mr. Shum’s room D207 during Block B.
  10. Hey Breakers! JNB SAGA and JNV UYV have collaborated for this upcoming anti-bullying day! Support anti-bullying efforts with a week-long pin sale hosted by SAGA on February 21-24. During lunch, purchase pins made by SAGA members in front of the cafeteria. All proceeds will benefit an anti-bullying day charity! Learn about anti-bullying through USE YOUR VOICE’s pink shirt day comics which will be available to read at the pin sale table and around the halls!
  11. The First Responders team is doing a first aid fundraiser to earn money for new equipment and guest speakers. You can purchase discounted first aid kits and survival kits to keep you and your family safe. There are 4 first-aid kit selections to choose from.   12. UYV will be collecting disaster relief supplies to be sent to Turkey for those affected by the devastating earthquakes. We have a drop-off box located in the office staring on Monday, February 13. The most needed supplies include non-perishable food, baby supplies, and hygiene products.
