On April 27, 2018, the Richmond School District, in partnership with the City of Richmond and the David Suzuki Foundation, will be hosting the REaDY (Richmond Earth Day Youth) Summit at Cambie Secondary from 9:00am – 12:00pm. This is a youth-led conference that provides Richmond students the opportunity to learn, lead and connect as they actively engage in environmental stewardship. This year, the event will be held on a professional development day for secondary schools. Upper intermediate classes and green teams from elementary schools will be invited to participate. Details about registration will be sent in a separate communication. As part of the conference, we will be selecting three Richmond students (one primary, one intermediate and one secondary) to present a short speech during the opening ceremony. The speech contest will be held on March 12, 3:30-5:00 at City Hall.
Please find attached documents that will provide more detail of the Summit and speech contest.
Please send completed applications to Neal Campbell (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Monday, February 26.
